They say that “your eyes” are the windows to your soul, so, you should always want them to stand out and look their best, right? Now a day’s there are so many shades of pencil, liquid, and gel eyeliner that sometimes we find ourselves overwhelmed and unsure of the perfect color for our eyes. Your eye color, shape, size, and how they are set in your face, also have to be taken into consideration when picking the right color eyeliner for your eyes. Here are a few ideas we suggest for you gals and your gorgeous eyes.
No longer do you have to stick to the obvious eyeliner shades of black, brown or gray. Those days are long over! Thanks to all of the makeup companies popping up every minute, lol, but totally true, there are numerous shades and formulas in black, brown, and gray, and colors like blue, purple, teal, gold, gunmetal, bronze, and silver metallics to choose from. It can become a bit daunting but nothing that we can’t handle. When it comes to eyes and eyeliner we are probably more obsessed than all since we have seen how applying the right color can make blue eye bluer, brown eyes browner, and hazel eyes look like you struck gold. There are certain eye shades that will definitely enhance your eye color and shape and maybe even change it. Now, that’s why we LOVE makeup!
Brown eyes are one of the easiest to conquer since there are so many colors and shades that look great on brown eyes. And that’s a good thing since most “brown” eyed people wish they had blue or green eyes…I know I always did and even went as far as purchasing blue contacts back in the 80′s! Oy, what was I thinking…? The grass is always greener theory…LOL! But I digress…back to lining brown eyes. Earthy tones are definitely a safe choice for lining brown eyes if you are not really into colors. Dark brown, muted or metallic browns, and shades of black will always make brown eyes pop. However, we suggest trying shades of amber to bring out the natural flecks in your eyes. It’s still a safe choice and you can even rim your eyelash line with black liner to make the amber pop even more.
For those Brown Eyed beauties who like to live dangerously, then we suggest lining your eyes with shades of blue such as electric blue, turquoise, sapphire, and wood violet. We also love shades of green on brown eyes. It will really make your brown eyes look gorgeous! Try lining your eyes with forest green, emerald green, grassy green and celery green.
For our purple crazed beauties, we suggest lining your eyes with deep purples, blue based purples, maroons, and dusty rose or rose gold.
Hint: Make even more of a statement by adding black eyeliner into your eyelash line. Apply around your entire eye for a sexy, va-va voom look.
Hazel Eyes can have shades of blue, brown and green which makes it a little trickier to find the perfect eyeliner shade. But wow, what a gorgeous color to have! To make your hazel eyes pop we suggest sticking with deeper greens like emerald, forest green, olive and other greens with a gold base. These tend to make the various flecks in hazel eyes look like the eyeliner shade you are wearing. You can also line your eyes with a deep plum for more color. Again, feel free to line the waterline of your eye with a dark brown or black liner to enhance the color liner around your eyes:)
We need to be a little careful with our eyeliner shades for green eyes. My suggestion is to pick shades of earthy colors and deeper shades of blue. I would stay away from any colors and/or shades with red or pink in them. They can make your gorgeous green eyes look tired instead of wide eyed and ready for a fun filled day! Definitely line your eyes in black first along your lash line on the upper and lower lids after you apply your colored eye liner. You can also set your colored liner with the same color in a powder formula as seen here in this photo above. Simply dip a brush with a taper point like a blender brush or smudge brush and sweep color along the under eye from inner corner to outer. Some other colors or shades you might want to experiment with are mahogany, deep rust and aubergine, which is the color of an eggplant.
And last but definitely not least, how to pick the perfect eyeliner for your blue eyes beauties Like green eyes, blue eyes are already so colorful that your eyeliner shades should stay simple. You might just want to enhance the color and make them look even bluer. Try shades of gold and copper to bring out your blue. To really bring your blue eyes out try layering them first using a rusty eye shadow like terra-cotta. This warm color will make your eyes stand out. Again, line your waterline or lash line with black to make the color pop even more.
