The count down has begun! Halloween is almost here!!! To some people it is a bigger “holiday” than Thanksgiving or Christmas. Houses are decorated with ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and witches. Family “costume themes” are picked months ahead of time along with party themes. However, there are still a few of us out there who wait to the final count down to pick a costume or theme. But here we are all about beauty! So, we focus mainly on the face and how we can create the perfect “Halloween” Zombie Makeup look. With AMC’s “The Walking Dead” currently being such a huge impact on television we are going to show you how to create your own “Zombie Makeup” face at home. Nothing can be more frightening than the thought of running into the undead. FYI … if you are a “MJ Thriller Flash Mobber, you can also use this look:) So, let’s get going…
To start creating your new “Zombie Makeup“ look it will help to get your mind set on thinking about yourself slowly turning into a pale blood smeared creature. Not pretty, we know but perfectly scary for Halloween. This Zombiefied look of pale gloomy makeup will transpire effectively by blending burgundy and black shades to enhance the creatures bloody alluring essence while at the same time making the living realize that this creature is not really dead…
Let us start gathering the items we will need to become a realistic “glam” Zombie. Before purchasing any new makeup check your vanity. There will be a few items that you may need to purchase and most products are available at Party City, Target, Walmart, and local Drug Stores.
*Black Eye Liner
*Light Face Illuminator
*Gray, cream, black, magenta, and red shades of eye shadow
*Red Lip Pencil
*Red and Black Lipstick
*Fake Latex Wound
*A Makeup Sponge and Makeup Brushes
Clean your face thoroughly then apply a good hydrating moisturizer. Now take your pale foundation and apply it all over your face with a makeup sponge. Once your entire face is pale you will want to start contouring it with your gray and cream eye shadow. Want to take it a step further??? Then apply a little of your light face illuminator to create a creepy translucent appearance.
Once your pale contoured complexion is complete you will move on to shaping your eyes to look sinister and frightening. If you want to keep your face looking a little glam then it might be a good idea to fill in your eyebrows first. Now you can move to your eyes. Take your black eye liner pencil and contour your lower eye lid with the outer “V” of your eye. To make your eyes look even more gloomy use your black eye shadow. Apply it around your eyes blending it gently using your eye makeup brush.
Now take your magenta eye shadow and apply it over the black eye shadow, edges only! Using your blending brush, blend it with a rusty red eye shadow to create a burgundy-black smoky eye look on your eye lids. Using your rusty red eye shadow, apply it under your eyes and close to your nose in order to create the illusion of blood stains under your eyes.
Next, take your red lip liner and apply it to the waterline of your upper and lower lids to emphasize your zombie look. You can also add a bit more black eye shadow to your upper eye lid for a more sinister look.
Get your Black Mascara and apply to your upper and lower eyelashes for a fuller and longer lash look. It will also “glam” up your undead zombie look:) Once your mascara has been applied, take your magenta eye shadow and apply it to the inner corners of your eyes (by tear ducts).
Since Zombies do not have any blood flowing in their veins, you might want to highlight that fact by using an eye liner brush to create a few small veins under each eye. (Hint: Take your black eye shadow and slightly wet your eye liner brush in order to make the perfect looking veins.)
Now we will focus on your lips. Apply black lipstick to you upper and lower lips followed by a red lipstick on to the center of your lips. This will create a slight ombre look that matches your eyes. Take your black liner and contour your lip line with your lip color.
For your final step get out your fake blood to create the “terrifying” part of your makeup. The blood fest! You will want to apply some of the fake blood to the corners of your mouth. Make sure to smudge it so it looks more realistic. Then take your latex wound attaching it to one of your cheeks. (These latex wounds can be found at your local Halloween Store.) Give your fake wound some depth. Smear a bit of black eye shadow on to the scratches. Now apply some fake blood on to your makeup sponge and tap it all over the wound.
Voila! You are now officially a “glam” Zombie!
PS You can take this look to the extreme by adding more blood and scars…It is up to you how scary you want to be!
