Recently we were asked to try a new skin care line that featured fig oil…?! Iman Oubou, the current Miss New York USA 2015 and former Miss Colorado, has started a company called Moroccan Heritage that uses top grade essential oils. Aside from representing NY and keeping a pretty busy schedule, Iman is also an entrepreneur, scientist, philanthropist and fashion guru. How does she do it? She has two BS degrees in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and her masters in Biomedical Engineering as well as a Bio-innovation Entrepreneurship Certificate. Not too shabby. In any case, our love for figs and skin care made it easy to say yes and we are so glad we did 🙂 We received the entire line from Moroccan Heritage which includes, Ghassoul Clay, Eye Cream, Argan Oil, Orange Blossom Water, and the Fig Oil. WOO HOO!!!! The first product tried was the Argan Oil which we applied all over since the weather is finally turning cold in Los Angeles and our skin is starting to resemble some type of reptile. You know, the ones with scaly dry skin. After a quick shower we applied several drops to the legs, arms, abs, chest and shoulders, massaging it into the skin. Immediately our skin looked dewy, hydrated and that scaly reptile look was gone. This essential oil can also be applied to your nail beds to encourage nail growth and to your hair as a leave-in conditioner. After applying to the hair we noticed how much softer it felt and loved the nice shine too. We suggest putting a few drops in your hands, rubbing them together and then running it through the ends of your hair. Main ingredient in this amazing oil is Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil. Next up was the the Eye Cream. We don’t know about you, but we are always on the lookout for that “miracle” eye cream so we were excited to check this one out! We applied a few drops to the upper eye lid area and underneath the eyes making sure that we gently patted the cream around the entire eye area paying careful attention to delicate areas where the skin is thinner. This particular eye cream is very light and quickly absorbed into the skin around the eyes. Since it is a cream base we also noticed there was no peeling effect throughout the day as many eye creams with a gel base can do. After using the eye cream for close to 10 days we noticed that the eye area looked more hydrated and the fine lines around the eyes were softer too. It has Argan Oil, Green Tea, and Vitamin C which are all hydrating and soothing ingredients. Definitely a “must” try eye cream.
And now for the Barbary Fig Oil, also known as “Prickly Pear Seed Oil” or “Cactus Oil,” is the new Liquid Gold of Morocco. The oil that started this review! A clear green golden oil that can also be used on both your skin and your hair. This oil absorbs super quickly into your skin and has a large amount of Vitamin E. Check this out…it has properties to diminish dark circles under your eyes, tones, tightens, and prevents premature aging. But wait, we’re not finished…it makes a great makeup primer, helps with hyper-pigmentation, repairs damaged hair and will also help enhance flat ironing your hair. A total “beauty miracle!”
