Your eyes play a big role as part of your face that will always need attention in more ways than one. And for most of us women, the first thing we focus on are our eyes, especially as we start to age. Before we know it, fine lines start to slowly appear, dark circles accompanied by puffiness under our eyes, and discoloration is staring back at us when we look into our mirror. Before long those fine lines can turn into deep creases creating, and we’re not sure why this name has stuck with us over the years, but yes beauties, “crows feet.” Yep, those annoying little lines that seem to creep up on us when we’re not looking. Ugh!
Why does this happen? Well, first of all the skin surrounding our eye area is very thin and extremely delicate. There are so many elements that we can not control like climate, UVA/UVB rays, pollutants and just our own genetic makeup that play a HUGE factor in how we age. More importantly, we also have our eating, drinking, and personal habits ( stress, smoking & drinking alcohol, too much sugar) to take into account for how we age as well. So, with that said, let’s talk about ways to slow down this process, and start first with finding and using a good eye cream specifically for your skin’s needs.
Being a beauty writer for over 10 years has allowed me the opportunity to try hundreds of eye creams that claim to do everything from getting rid of dark, puffy circles to reducing fine lines, wrinkles, plumping and tightening the skin around the eye area But do any of them work? That is the “million” dollar question! The answer is yes, but know that if you stop using them you will go back to having the same issues as before in your eye area and eventually get worse as time goes by. If one eye cream didn’t do it for you, you can definitely switch it out until you find the one that does. You don’t have to feel like just because you like the face cream or facial wash from the same skin care line that you should continue with the eye cream, especially if you do not see results.
La Mer Eye Creams are pricey but if used sparingly they will last you several months before you will need to replenish your supply. The good news is that we have seen consistent results while using La Mer. There are 3 types of eye formulas from the La Mer line. Their Illuminating Eye Gel focuses on giving your eyes that “awake” look. Loaded with antioxidants that tackle the aging effects of the environment, fatigue and stress as the Illuminating Ferment promotes a luminous new look. Your eyes will look more youthful, energized and awakened. Price is $145. Remember a little goes a long way.
For puffy, dark circles and discoloration, you will want to try La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate. It is deeply concentrated and will also tackle your fine lines. If you hang in there and continue to be faithful in using this eye cream your eyes will be visibly healthier, smoother and a more luminous look will be revealed. Price is $195.
Lastly by La Mer is their Eye Balm Intense. This is an intensive eye balm that utilizes three unique formulas to energize the skin, helping soothe and reduce visible puffiness and to deeply condition, smooth and hydrate your delicate eye area. Your fine lines and wrinkles will visibly diminish and your skin around your eyes will appear firmer and more lifted. Price is $195. Use all of La Mer eye products sparingly for best results. Loading up on eye cream around your eyes will not give you better results, I promise:)
