Cat Eye Makeup and Winged Eyeliner are timeless makeup looks which can be used as part of your everyday eye makeup routine or for more important social events to help accentuate your eyes.

Pro Tips:

Let's create winged liner. Start by taking your cat eye makeup stencil and placing it over your eyelid. Use your index and middle fingers to hold your stencil in place before applying your color. For a trendy and thicker winged liner look you’ll want to make sure the black guideline of your cat eye stencil shape is placed approximately 1/8'' to 1/4" above your lashline and the tip/point of your stencil slightly up to create the winged effect. The key is to extend your cat eye makeup stencil out from the end of your eye and point the tip up at a slight angle. The further you move your stencil away from your outer eye and point the cat eye tip up, the more of a winged liner effect you'll have.

For an easy application, follow this guideline along the cat eye stencil shape and up into the point when applying your color. For a classic petite cat eyeliner look place the edge or black guideline of your stencil closer to your lashline. Although many makeup artists who have featured the stencils use a liquid or gel liner to create their eyeliner looks, for the best results we usually recommend using a powder shadow first to create your winged liner or cat eye makeup look before going over with a liquid or gel liner.

Using a medium size eyeshadow brush create your winged eyeliner look by dipping your brush into your color (making sure to tap off any excess color) and applying your shadow into the cat eye stencil shape. As you apply your color inside the cat eye shape, use a pressing motion (not a sweeping) with your brush to ensure that the eyeshadow is applied evenly. Remember to follow the black guideline. For a more defined eyeliner look and to intensify the color, dampen your eyeshadow brush using either an eyeliner sealant or a drop of water before dipping it into your eyeshadow.

Make sure to wipe your winged eyeliner stencil clean with a soft tissue or a baby wipe and repeat the same steps on the other eye.

Ask & Answer:

Which eyeshadow palette is best for an everyday eye makeup look?

Most customers choose the Kiss This Guy palette as the colors are a bit more neutral, but it also depends on how you apply the colors. Wearing them wet, or applying layers of color will render a more dramatic eye makeup look, while applying just a wash of color to the eyelid with either your fingers or a brush is perfect for an everyday, more neutral eye look.

Can the eyeshadows be worn wet and dry?

Absolutely! To wear the eye color wet, we usually suggest dampening your brush first and then dipping it into the outter area of your shadow. This is more typical when using the shadow to create eyeliner.

Can you use your fingers to apply colors too?

We like to do both but it really depends on preference. Sometimes using your fingers to apply a shimmer, irridescent, or metallic color to the eyelids will actually give you more of a pay off in terms of color. From there you can grab a blender brush and add a little contour to your crease which is great for a smokey eye look.

My eyelids are shiny. Do you recommend applying a primer to the lids before adding color?

If your eyelids are extremely shiny, then applying a primer to the lids will definitely help to keep the color from creasing and also extend the length of time your eye color stays on.

Amazing! Review by Madi

Have had these for several months and it took me awhile to figure it out at first however once I worked at it a bit more i love it! It takes some playing around to make sure they're even but it's so simple. I prefer gel or the eye liner pens with them the best! So easy to wipe clean and reuse! My favorite tool! I received my eye stencils a few months ago now and I have to say they're really impressive, I know how to do my cat eyeliner, but these products make it very easy and fast. You just need to find the right position for it on your eyes and it'll do the trick ! Thank you Beth Bender you have amazing products, their brushes are awesome too and you'll be surprise to see that they come in a really cool faux leather pocket to keep them clean and organized ! When I first received the stencil I couldn't get it for the life of me. i tried like 8 times and couldn't get it, ended up making my skin around my eye raw from makeup wipes. I tried the next morning (with gel liner) and got both eyes perfectly! I have did it again after that and it has been perfect, the key is to find your perfect spot for the stencil since everyone has different shaped eyes. I use gel liner most of the time, I have tried with black eyeshadow but i need to get a better quality black eyeshadow. Before I just wore mascara and lipgloss, but my eyes look 10x better with a cat eye. I couldn't even draw regular eyeliner above my lash line before. I am so impressed with this product. The customer service was wonderful, and the product is wonderful. (Posted on 4/6/2016)
