Trend Alert: Top Spring Makeup Looks To Try on Yourself

Makeup Trend: Gilded Lids

At Jason Wu's show, makeup artists smudged a Coffee shadow into the creases and lined the top lashes with a felt tip liner in black. Then the lids were given a wash of brown eye shadow and topped with actual loose gold glitter for a stunning metallic effect.

To create this look on yourself add a wash of brown shadow over the entire eyelid, contour the crease with a slightly darker brown. Using your index or middle finger tap a gold metallic shimmer over the just the eyelid area leaving the contour color in crease free of shimmer. Finish the look by adding a thin black line right along the lashline.

A CAT EYELINER LOOK TO LOVE
As far as we can tell, and based on many of the looks from Spring fashion week, blue in all different shades is going to be super hot. Whether it be a wash of color across the lids or a bright teal or sapphire as seen here, its taking center stage for sure!
At David Koma a subtle hint of blue was all that was needed to make this beauty statement go a long way. The ever popular winged eye liner look created with a swoop of graphic sapphire liner to the corners of the eyes. We have found that using a cream works best but you can set with a shadow or an eyeliner sealant once you have the desired look.

Use a Classic Angled Eyeliner Brush or Angled Eyeliner Brush to apply your cream shadow as a liner, and a Cream Eye shadow Brush for applying to the lid.

A VIOLET SMOKEY EYE LOOK

Backstage Beauty: The new spring smokey eye look for 2014. Use a violet shadow in a cream or powder. Check out Eye Color Lilac Shimmer.

This look is more of a freestyle smokey-cat eye look that can easily be achieved with a cream eye shadow brush or by using your fingers. Apply color across the entire eyelid and sweep the same color underneath as well. You can layer the eyes with more color or just leave as is depending on the desired look. To perfect the cat eye point finish by blending the color up and away from eye as seen here with either your cream eye shadow brush or an angled eyeliner brush. Set with an eyeliner/eyeshadow sealant to keep the color from smudging.

Add a touch of concealer under the eye to complete the look making sure to tap color with your index or middle finger until the color is completely blended.

GET THE LOOK
To make your eyelashes look even thicker a trick is to apply a coat of black eyeliner to the upper waterline of your eyes. To do this, pull up your lashes just a bit, and run the black eyeliner on the top of the inner waterline. To give it more staying power, try a waterproof gel eyeliner pencil in black and line the waterline. Even though this is a subtle difference, the black base it creates automatically gives the appearance of thicker, fuller lashes.

BLUE IS THE NEW BLACK
At Marc by Marc Jacobs, models wore a stunning statement lid in a rich, solid blue from lash line to crease. The look was done using a shimmery cream eye color in a bright blue and patted onto the eyelids creating a crescent shape just above the creases. It was topped with a layer of powder eye shadow in the same shade to keep the color in place and finish the look.
A FRESH EYE MAKEUP IDEA
A wash of iridescent whites and pale pinks gave lids a dewy freshness on the runway for Spring. Also an easy look to re-create and look just as fabulous.

To get the look makeup artists layered an all over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in a Pink Shimmer and then topped it with an Eye Shadow in Opal.

PRO TIP: If you're skin tone has more yellow undertones choose a shadow that is less blue and has some warmth to it.
