Looking for an alternative to the sexy hot date cat-eye look but not sure what would make a good 2nd? How about creating the winged shape with an eye shadow for a softer version that's perfect for day time.

A Daytime Smokey Eye Look to Love

We love this look seen here from fashion week and it's easy to re-create on yourself. Beth suggests starting with a brown eyeliner pencil and dotting the color between both the top and bottom lashes, which accentuates the shape of the eye, gives the appearance of thicker lashes, and acts as a base. Then, using a brown cream shadow, apply with a cream eyeshadow brush over the eyelids, through the crease and along the lower lashes.

Over that, sweep a brown matte shadow with a fluffy eye shadow brush, giving the shadow its diffused edges. To get the shape just right, extend it an inch past the outer corners and slightly over the brown bone. Then take a cotton swab dipped in eye cream or makeup remover to get rid of any unwanted shadow.
